2010 Georgia State University Model United Nations

FAQs

Q. Where can we get lunch during the conference?
A. Georgia State has two food courts (one in the University Center and one in the Student Center). Additionally, we are located only a block from Underground Atlanta and there are numerous other restaurants located in the area. Feel free to ask any staff member for a recommendation or directions.

Q. How many delegates will be at the conference?
A. We expect approximately 400 delegates to this year's conference.

Q. Who makes up the staff at GSUMUN?
A. The GSUMUN staff is composed of about 30 college students and graduates with experience in International Affairs. They have a combined experience of more than 200 Model United Nations Conferences, come from 3 universities, and have an extensive knowledge of a variety of issues. While most students in the group are political scientists, we also have computer scientists, chemists, sociologists, and a number of other majors.

Q. How much are the delegation fees?
A. Delegation fees are $95 per delegation. This allows us to provide a quality conference with the range of services (printing, projectors, facilities, etc.) that we do. Fees are due by October 26, 2009 in the form of a check payable to Georgia State University. Checks may be sent to:

Dr. Joseph Feinberg
Georgia State University
MSIT Dept.
PO Box 3978
Atlanta, GA 30302-3978

Q. Are refunds available for dropped delegations?
A. Any delegations dropped after the payment deadline will not be eligible for refund. At this point, documents have already been sent to print as well as orders for supplies and room reservations space. Please note that schools that drop delegations late may not be eligible for early pre-registration the following year.

Q. Are laptops permitted at the conference?
A. Delegates are encouraged to bring laptops to the conference to assist in research and working paper writing. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer wireless access in committee, however, delegates are strongly encouraged to save resources to their computers and to use laptops in drafting working papers. Delegates are also encouraged to bring USB Flash Drives to transfer files from their laptops to the conference network.
